Research title: Urea production via hybrid non-thermal plasma electrochemical technology
Urea plays a vital role in various industries, mostly as a fertilizer and energy storage material. Currently, urea is industrially produced under harsh conditions, starting from ammonia which is made using the Haber-Bosch process. To date, no investigation has examined the combination of non-thermal plasma (for nitrogen and carbon dioxide activation), coupled with electro-catalysis for the production of urea. Further investigation is also essential to understand the effects of electro-catalyst on the reaction. My research area will focus on electro-catalyst characterization and development in the reaction of NOx and carbon dioxide derivatives from plasma-assisted source.
