Project summary
The hydrogen economy, relying on hydrogen as the primary energy source, faces hydrogen transport and storage challenges. Alternatively, ammonia can be a viable carrier for hydrogen, leveraging existing infrastructure. The critical challenge is developing an efficient catalyst for ammonia decomposition to produce hydrogen. Our project focuses on designing catalysts for photothermal conversion and optimizing properties for enhanced efficiency at lower temperatures. We aim to understand catalyst-gas/intermediate interactions by employing experimental and computational techniques, ensuring effective hydrogen production.
