Project summary
The urgent need for economically viable green hydrogen production is highlighted by the shift towards a hydrogen economy. Currently, most hydrogen comes from fossil fuels, but water electrolysis using renewable energy offers a sustainable alternative. Challenges like cost-effectiveness and competing water demands hinder its adoption.
My research project aims to develop a more cost-efficient green hydrogen process, integrating organic wastewater treatment. Success could make hydrogen-from-waste a practical solution for remote communities, showcasing waste valorisation as a viable commercial option.
