Excited to host Professor Ryan Richards, a Fulbright Scholar and Visiting Professorial Fellow at UNSW Chemical Engineering and Particles and Catalysis Research Laboratories. Prof Richards is a Professor of Chemistry and Materials Science at Colorado School of Mines and will be with UNSW for fellowship program until June 2024.
We had an amazing full-house seminar delivered by Prof Richards titled "Synthesis of faceted metal oxides with unique surface properties in catalysis and carbon capture", emphasizing the gigantic opportunity to employ earth-abundant metals as replacement for critical minerals. He then attended the gala dinner for the 75th anniversary of Fulbright in Canberra, hosted by Ambassador Caroline Kennedy, where he presented "New Tricks for Old Dogs - Earth Abundant Materials for Decarbonisation".
