Project summary
My work focuses on the development of photothermal catalysts through design and tuning to maximise access to the solar spectrum, capturing visible to near infrared light (vis-NIR) as a major energy input for effective CO2 reduction into light hydrocarbon (C1-C4) products. This is facilitated by assessments on the optical and physical characteristics of the catalytic material to elucidate surface-reactant interactions, furthered by probing the role of light on the overall reaction mechanism.
